My Shooting Star
Sparkle, Sparkle,
Into the light you go.
Dash across the sky,
My enchanting star,
And brighten the sky,
With your amazing,
Colors.
***
Soul with Light
Breathe in new air,
Fill my soul with light,
Make my heart lighter,
Bring in the peace,
I crave deep inside me.
I want strength,
To make me endure,
Face the future,
Conquer it,
Accept it,
Love it,
Breathe me new air,
Give me fire to push on.
***
Sunset Divine
Sunset bright,
Heart’s delight,
Red hues divine,
Oranges very wild,
Bit’s of brown,
Like flecks of dirt,
Perhaps, a nod,
To mother earth,
I smile in delight,
The sight so fine,
My heart content,
Bids the day goodbye,
Until tomorrow,
I say,
Another Sunset Delight

Frustrations Undone
There is a day frustration,
Eats me up inside,
Makes me scream out loud,
I walk into the kitchen,
Pick a knife,
And a chopping board,
And put the stereo on.
I chop, cut, pound,
And tear at vegetables,
While I sing to
My favorite rock tunes,
Hours later, usually two
Or four, depending on my mood,
The frustration is gone,
And all that’s left,
Is a beautiful plate
Of food with a smile.

Breaking the Monotony
Love is the beginning of a great
Deal of life’s emotions.
Indulge in it and you’ll discover
the essence of living life
When you love, you’ll hurt, you’ll smile
you’ll cry, laugh, sing and like
Sometimes it will be difficult, other times
it will be easy.
You’ll find sadness and despair,
what’s best is that your heart
will always run to
that which matters most to you.
****
Smile
I missed your smile,
Your laugh, your look,
That special look
Meant just for me,
I caught a glimpse of
You on the street,
I ran after you
Thinking to catch up,
Each time, I found
You’re not really there,
My heart died a little,
I cried a lot more,
When the doorbell rang,
And I saw you there,
I felt like the luckiest girl on earth,
All I could think to say was,
I missed your smile.

On love
I speculate, fantasize,
And encourage on the subject,
Yet I’m very naïve; uninformed.
I only want to appear better
Than the next person,
Perhaps I am, maybe not.
It would make sense
To explore, understand,
Grasp this subject.
I will admit,
I claim to know so much,
Yet, I don’t know anything.
In fact, my naiveté is
Appallingly vast.
One day,
I shall be learned enough.
For now it remains,
I try to hold my own,
On the subject of Love.
